General

Indura sits on the tropical northern coast of Tela Bay, which is dotted by banana palm trees and jungles with a distinct Caribbean vibe.

Located in Bahia de Tela on the northern coast of Honduras, Indura Beach & Golf Resort is nestled between the Caribbean Sea and picturesque Jeannette Kawas National Park, a treasure trove of beaches, wetlands, tropical forests, coral reefs and lagoons.

Dotting a lush tropical landscape our 60 junior suites are scattered in 15 villas that are interconnected by footpaths that meander to pristine beach. The design incorporates the liberal use of local Honduran products and sustainable materials, including bamboo floors, walls of local pine, San Juan wood doors and decorative accents of Guanacaste wood.

Tela

Tela

Tela offers the natural beauty of its beaches, its exuberant tropical vegetation in three distinct areas: Lancetilla Gardens, Punta Sal National Park and Punta Izopo Wildlife Refuge, as well as the cultural experience of the Garifuna Culture. Tela is well worth your time on your vacation in Honduras. Best of all, it is still unspoiled.

Tela Bay – A Caribbean paradise where the lush tropical mountains and botanical gardens are the background for the village of Tela which is surrounded by many of the best preserved easily accessible North Coast Ocean and Jungle River Parks. All this is bordered with over 20 miles of the widest, most beautiful white sand beaches in Honduras being kissed by the warm, blue Caribbean Sea.

Nightlife

NightlifeThere are plenty of restaurants and bars for your casual dinner or a cocktail, the streets are easy to walk, and the locals are very friendly.

Culture & history

Culture & historyTela's special the cultural experience of the Garifuna Culture. All along the Bay of Tela there are several different Garifuna communities, and perhaps some of the most interesting ones in all the country are right here. From west to east, you will find the Rio Tinto, Miami, Tornabe, San Juan, La Ensenada and finally Triunfo de la Cruz. Amongst these, without doubt, the most interesting and unique is Miami, the only one that to this day is still completely built of thatched huts. You can eat typical foods at all the villages, and learn some of their traditions. Outstanding, and definitely fun, are the "punta" and "yancunu" dances, that have origins in their African roots. With the exception of Rio Tinto and Miami, all of the villages are easily reached, with good public transportation readily available. You can also rent a bicycle and have the added advantage of free time to discover all the interesting facets of these villages and their people at your own pace. In some of the Garifuna villages there are hotels where you can stay and experience the lifestyle of the Garifuna. An example of these are the Last Resort at Tornabe, the Budari at La Ensenada and the Paradise at San Juan.
