Ride Central America.
Arrival to San Pedro Sula International Airport. Garifuna Tours staff will pick you up at the airport and bring you to the Hotel at Tela, North Cost of Honduras. Depending on what time in the day you arrive, we will meet to sort out paperwork and prepare the bikes. A group briefing meeting will be arranged once the last rider has arrived. Hotel: Maya Vista.
Moto ride to Garifuna Villages Triunfo, afternoon at Los Micos. We make a 30 min ride to the garifuna village of Triunfo de la Cruz, one of the biggest garifuna villages in the country. We get to Punta Izopo National Park where we will do some kayaking through the Plátano River, looking for monkeys, crocodiles, and many other wildlife species at the river side. For lunch, we’ll get back to our bikes and move to a local restaurant to have a typical food prepared by garifunas. After lunch we’ll visit another garifuna village, but this time, one of the smallest of the country, Miami. Nice view to the ocean at one side and the Micos lagoon at the other side. This area is part of the Jeannette Kawas National Park. Hotel: Maya Vista.
At 8:00am, after breakfast, we get our rides and leave to Copan Ruins. This will be about 4 and a half hours ride among several cities of Honduras, with some nice mountain views. We’ll be there just in time for a typical lunch. In the afternoon we take a small ride to the Mayan Ruins just a few minutes from the Hotel. A bilingual expert guide will walk us among the magnificent Ruins, explaining their history and Culture. We get back to the city where you’ll have time to explore the area. Hotel: Casa Café.
Visit to Santa Rosa cigars factory, then to Suchitoto at El Salvador. From Copan Ruins we ride for about 1 hour and a half to Santa Rosa de Copan. We’ll visit a local Cigar Factory to see the process of manufacturing. Honduras Cigars are known for being among the best around the world. We continue our journey to Suchitoto, 2 and a half hour Riding, crossing the Honduras and El Salvador border. This is a very nice colonial city. Hotel: Los Almendros.
To the Salvadorian Coast up to Guatemala, Antigua. This will be more than 4 hours of ride. While still in El Salvador, we’ll drive along the west coast with a nice view to the Pacific Ocean. We’ll cross the El Salvador and Guatemala boarders to continue our way to Antigua Guatemala, most famous city of the country. In the afternoon we’ll have some time to explore the colonial city. Hotel: Casa Bella Boutique Hotel.
Rio Dulce and Livingstone. About 4 hours and a half from Antigua to Rio Dulce, with nice views from Guatemala roads. Once in Rio Dulce we leave our bikes and move by boat to Livingston, the only garifuna village in Guatemala. Nice view of the Caribbean. Hotel: Villa Caribe.
Omoa, Castillo San Fernando, in the afternoon back to Tela. After breakfast we get to main land, get our bikes and move to Honduras, once again, we cross the boarders and get to Omoa. Here we’ll visit the castle, which is known for being robbed by pirates many years ago. After lunch we ride to Tela. About 5 hours riding from Rio Dulce to Tela. Hotel: Maya Vista.
Depending on your plans and timing, we’ll get you to the airport either for your fly home, or we can arrange what you had in mind to continue your vacations.
